Sending Joy - Snowman Skating

I lovingly refer to older pattern papers in my stash as vintage paper.  It's paper I bought because I loved it, or in this case paper that was given to me by a friend who purged her scrapbooking stash. Many of us have these papers taking up space in our stash, papers we can't seem to let go of but still don't use.  

I built this based on the inspiration of the "vintage" paper from my stash.  It started life as a piece of 12" x 12" scrapbook paper, trimmed and inked to make it new again.  By cutting a sheet of 12" x 12" into six 4" x 5 1/4" panels, the look of the paper often changes.  Inking the edges with a bit of Distress Oxide toned the pattern down and turned it into a fun background.   The large letters of the word Joy, along with the sentiment banner become the focal point of the card.  No one will ever know this paper isn't this year's hot trendy one.
