It's no secret that I'm a Distress Ink addict. One of my favorite things to do is to watercolor with them, and as of late I'm hooked on layering them to create depth. The steps I used to create this card are very similar to the steps I used to create the Merry & Bright Card and the Bright Snowflakes Card.
I began by layering Distress Oxides to create a background. Once I had a background I was happy with I stamped the poinsettias using Versamark ink, then shook on gold embossing powder. After heat setting the embossing powder, I pulled the matching Distress inks and squished them onto my glass mat. Using the ink as watercolor I layered on the matching ink color to the area I was painting.
The watercolor panel was then added to a gold mat and adhered to a kraft card. Then finished with the word peace die cut from the same gold paper as the mat.
