I have to say several years ago when I started watching Kelly Taylor build her scene cards I was mesmerized, but I never saw myself building them. Now, here I am making them!
I started this card by stamping and masking my little love penguins in their convertible. After I masked my car, I used some post-it tape to mask off the bottom of my card so I could build the sunset and add the grass.
The sunset sky was ink blended using Taylored Expressions cloud stencil with Distress Inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Tattered Rose, Saltwater Taffy, Dried Marigold, and Scattered Straw. With my sky done I added grass using Taylored Expressions grass stencil with Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint.
After completing the sky and grass I moved the strip of post-it tape to cover the grass so that I could build the road. To build the simple road I used two more strips of post-it tape to create a vantage point masking off the sidewalk. Then using Black Soot I blended my pavement. To create the sidewalks I moved my diagonal stips to cover the road and reveal the sidewalk area. From there I blended Pumice Stone over the area. Next, I added texture to my sidewalk with the Kaisercraft Gritty stamp and Hickory Smoke ink.
I removed all of my masks and used my Copic markers to color the penguins and car. I've listed the colors below. With my love birds completed I added a bit of clear glaze pen over the bump, headlights, mirrors, and windshield. To complete my card I stamps "I flippin' love you" in my sky and adhered the panel to a white card base.
