Giving Old Pattern Paper a Facelift

Hello Lovely.  Today's cards were a little bit of an experiment that ended up being a success.  I watched this video on faux fabric technique for cardmaking.  It sparked an idea and made me wonder if I could do a little updating to some older pattern papers in my stash, give it a facelift of sorts.  Let's face it we all have paper in our stash that we spent good money on, and then hoarded it until it wasn't on trend anymore.

The pattern paper I pulled from my stash had been living in my stash for years.  I took my script background stamp and Distress Oxide Ink in Old Paper, Antique Linen, and Tattered Rose, and did some stamping.  Each panel is stamped with a different color, then die cut with my Stitched Rectangles die by Simon Says Stamp.  The updated pattern paper was then added to a kraft card base.  I die cut smaller stitched rectangles from scrap white cardstock, inked each one of these with ink to match the color used on each panel, then stamped the sentiment using the retired Neat and Tangled set Kindness Matters.
