SSS Wednesday Challenge - Distress It

Hello Lovely.  Today's card is for the Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday's Challenge - Distress It.  As we all know I love my Distress Inks and I just couldn't resist playing along with this challenge.  I also need to create a beautiful card for my Mom's Birthday, which is next week.  I think I succeeded in accomplishing both.

I started with a piece of Canson Acrylic paper and went about using the same Tim Holtz ink smooshing technique I used on Yesterday's Color Throwdown Card.  I chose Distress Inks in the colors Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, and Dusty Concord.  I smooshed some of each color on my Ranger Craft Mat and misted it with water before smooshing the paper onto the mat.  It was a game of layering colors until I had a look I was happy with.

Once the ink was layered and dried I added some Ranger Texture Paste in Transparent Matte using the Carta Bella Prairie floral stencil.  I needed some sparkle and shine, so I splattered on some Perfect Pearls in the color Perfect Pearl once my texture paste was dry.

I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment on to a white oval, die cut with my Stitched Oval dies from Simon Says Stamp and added it to the center of the panel.  I added a gob of foam tape to the back of the panel and adhered it to a charcoal gray card base.  To complete the card, I die cut a butterfly from some pearly purple specialty paper from my scrap stash, using the Technique Tuesday Happy Butterfly die.  I added a small bit of foam tape to the body of the butterfly and gently curved the wings up before adding it just under the sentiment.
