MFT Color Challenge # 98 - Because You're Amazing

Hello Lovely.  Today's post is for the My Favorite Things Color Challenge # 98.  The colors are Lavender Fields, Wild Wisteria, Peach Bellini and Coral Crush.

For my card, I selected Distress Ink colors that closely match the color palette - Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Dried Marigold and Carved Pumpkin. I really love how this card turned out.  The color combo is fantastic.

I opted for the same watercolor technique I used for yesterday's Work It Wednesday post.  I started with a piece of Canson Watercolor paper and I used the MFT Because You stamp set and a few dragonflies from my stamp stash.  I stamped "Because You're Amazing" in my trusty VersaFine Onyx Black ink and hit it with the heat gun to make sure it was dry.  I stamped the various dragonflies in VersaMark ink and embossed them with Clear Ranger Superfine Detail embossing powder.

Now for the fun part, watercoloring.  I used a wide flat brush to spread clean water around the butterflies, then I began adding colors.  I started with the Dusty Concord in the bottom right corner, moved into Milled Lavender, Dried Marigold and finishing in the top left corner with Carved Pumpkin.  While the color is still wet I pull random edges our to give it a more ragged edge.  I also splattered a bit of color around to add to the artistic look.  After I'm happy with the color I dry everything with a heat gun.  I cut the dry panel with my Simon Says Wonky Rectangles die and added a copious amount of foam tape to the back of the panel.  I adhered the completed panel to a plum card base.
