Color Throwdown #503 - Christmas in July

Hello Lovely.  I'm little more ahead of the game this week.  The colors for The Color Throwdown were releases yesterday and I got busy.  We're nearing the end of July and I'm ready to put the Christmas stamps away for a couple of months, but before I do here's one more Christmas in July post.

The colors for Color Throwdown #503 are - red, green and grey.  If you would like to learn more about the Color Throwdown you should check out their blog.  New colors are posted every week.

I had to make just one, okay two, more cards with the masking stencil technique.  I started with a circle stencil, made using acetate and my Simon Says Stamps Stitched Circles.  I cut a mask from a full stick Post-it note using the Leaping Dear die from Memory Box and positioned it into the center of the circle.  I layered on the Tim Holtz Flourish stencil and stated my ink blending with Fired Brick and Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

Once my background was completed I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Joy to the World stamp set and added a bit of detail with a small branch stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Hello Friends set.  I used VersaFine Onyx Black ink for both.  Then I trimmed the panel to 4 x 5 1/4 - inches and adhered it to a smoke grey card base.
