Color Throwdown #502 - Love You

Hello Lovely!  Are you ready for this?  This is my first Color Throwdown card.  Last week when I wrote about Challenges, I had every intention of getting this post up by Friday, but things happen and it was delayed.  We'll talk about that more soon, but for now, let's talk about this card.

The colors for Color Throwdown #502 were - cobalt blue, aqua, gray and white.  If you would like to learn more about the Color Throwdown you should check out their blog.  New colors are posted every week.

I used a script background stamp and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink and stamped it onto a white card panel.  I cut a simple heart mask from a full stick post-it note, using Kaiserkraft Nesting Hearts dies, and placed it in an offset position on the panel.    

Can I just say that oxides blend like butter?  It's true.  I love ink blending, but with oxides, it's just so smooth.  I used Blueprint Sketch and Broken China to create my color blend.  Once I was happy with my blend I channeled my inner Kelly Latevola, splattering first with water and then with Perfect Pearls in the color perfect pearls.  After this was dry I removed the mask to reveal the crisp white heart with grey script.  

I used my favorite Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut the panel.  Then I matted it on white cardstock to create a small border before adding it to the card base.  I covered the back of the panel with a copious amount of foam tape and then added it to the grey card base.  

To finish the card I pulled a couple of die cut words from my stash.  I had the words "Love You" leftover from another project.  I inked them with the same Hickory Smoke ink and added a bit of sparkle with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.  I used my Xyron and added the words to the front of the card.  To complete the card I added a few little gems.
