Christmas in July Day 5

I grabbed these little penguins from Mama Elephant for Hampton Arts that I picked up at Michaels last year.  Such cute little guys and all the sentiments in the set are great too.

These cards were a simple way for me to use up a few scraps in my stash.  I created two of each design, using the same layout and stamps, varying the pattern paper and the card base color.  

As is my habit when building sets, I completed one card to give me a map to follow.  It's much like working from a sketch.  Once that card is complete I create the others in an assembly line manner.

The penguins are stamped on to the white banners with my favorite black ink, VersaFine Onyx Black.  The banners were cut with a die from Verve Stamps, which is no longer available.  I colored the little Santa hat blue with KaiserCraft metallic pen.

The sentiment was stamped onto the card base with VersaMark ink and then embossed with silver WOW embossing powder and then I added the strip of pattern paper to the card.

We all have a stash of brads somewhere right?  I've been working on using mine up.  I added a silver brad to the top of each banner before using foam tape to attach it over top of the pattern paper.

These little penguins are just so cute and these make the perfect card for friends this holiday season.
