Hello Lovely. Welcome to another Christmas in July post. There are no process photos in this post, only a few photos of the completed sets of cards. I'll admit, sometimes I get in a groove making and don't even think about the process photos for a blog post.
This first set is created from my stash of pocket cards for pocket scrapbooking. I have a ton of these cards because I had high hopes for myself, but I'm just not a scrapbooker in any form or fashion. No matter how hard I try. I used a snowflake die that I picked up last year at a local scrap store when we were home for Thanksgiving. The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set and is stamped in my favorite black ink VersaFine Onyx Black. I also used my favorite stitched rectangle dies from Simon Says Stamps. I added a bit of detail with some Tonic Nuvo Drops.
With card set two I used the snowflakes that came from cutting the pocket cards in the first set. Each snowflake is coated with clear embossing powder to add some shine, which doesn't show very well in the photos. Again with the stitched rectangles from Simon Says Stamps, I cut the craft panel and the sentiment block. I used a bit of gold thread to add the look of a hanging ornament. The sentiment is from a retired My Favorite Things stamp set and is stamped with VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink.
Card set number three I strayed from traditional Christmas colors. These are burgundy, cream, and gold. The word tree stamp is from Hampton Arts, stamped in VersaMark ink and then embossed with gold embossing powder from Ranger. The card base was created using a Hero Arts background stamp and is stamped with Distress Oxide Ink in Aged Mahogany. Of course I used my Simon Says Stamp stitched rectangle dies to create simple layers.
My final card set is almost a one layer card. It was my intention to create a one layer card, but it was just to flat. The tree stamp is from a Stampin' Up set that I bought at a thrift store. I stamped the tree in VersaFine ink and embossed it with WOW silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from a retired My Favorite Things stamp set, also stamped in VersaFine ink and embossed with the same silver powder. I added a small strip of pattern paper to make the card pop.
Thanks for swinging by today. Below are links to some of the products used to create these card. I'll be back with more card ideas tomorrow.
