Casing Pinterest - Christmas in July Day 3

Day 3 of Christmas in July and Casing Pinterest for card inspiration.  I love this color combo of pool and soft grey with the pops of silver in this set of cards.

The inspiration for this card set came from this pin for a card on the I'm in Heaven blog.

I opted to add a little more dimension to my card by adding layers.  I used a soft grey card base layered with a pool panel.  I rounded the corners of both the card base and the panel.  The sentiment is stamped in VersaMark ink and then embossed with silver WOW embossing powder.

Using VersaMark ink and the same silver embossing powder I coated each snowflake with two layers of embossing.  This gives the snowflakes an almost metal embellishment effect.  If you have a keen eye you'll notice that I'm reusing some white cardstock from some Simon Says Stamp packaging.

Once the snowflakes were completed I added some silver thread to create the look of a hanging ornament.  Each snowflake was added to the front of a panel and the loose threads were tucked and adhered to the back of the pool panel.  I only added adhesive to the center of the snowflake, leaving the edges loose for dimension.

Each pool panel was secured to the front of a grey card base.  The addition of a single rhinestone to the center of each snowflake added a bit of extra bling.

These cards are very classy and polished.  The colors seem almost classic.
