I started this background on Day 11. This is the Cosmos Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I'll link to the products I used below. I was inspired by Kathy's project on Day 3. I opted to use colored pencils and chose the color Aquamarine. Once I had the background filled in I used a Polycolor Colorless blender pencil to get a smooth, almost marker like blend.
On Day 12 I began adding black pen to the image for shading and detail. I'll be honest, I wasn't loving how this was starting to look. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't colored the stems black. I finished the coloring the black on Day 13 and set the panel aside for few days, while I pondered how I'd salvage it or if I'd toss it.
On Day 24 I pulled it from the pile of colored items and did a bit of creative die cutting to create a couple of card panels. In the end, I really love how the contrast of the colored background with the black and white flowers turned out.
I can say I will be using this technique again to create other cards, I really love the way the cards turned out in the end.
