1 Background Stamp 3 Ways

I'll start this post by admitting that this is my favorite background stamp.  It was my first background stamp purchase and I simply love it.  If you're interested in having one of your very own, you'll find a link below.  Now let's talk about coloring!

I've made a number of cards using this stamp and decided while I was participating in the The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge I would try some coloring experiments.  Here's what Day 17 through Day 21 looked like.

We've been to this movie before, all of the images were stamped on Bristol Paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I've found this combination to be the best for the mediums I use.  It gives me a clean sharp image every time.

On Day 17 I used colored Prismacolor Scholar colored pencils and blending pencil.  The color palette I chose was inspired by this pin.  I just love the bright orange, blue and green combination.  For this image, I worked with shading and blending colors.

Card two was an experiment in making a design my own.  I used the Arteza Watercolor Pencils and a water brush to shade some of the images and then used Sakura Pigma Sensei pens to fill in other areas.  This gave things a whole new look.  You can see the way things seem to pop with the black and how it changes how your eye perceives the pattern.  

For the third card, I worked with only the Sakura Pigma Sensei pens to fill in some of the areas.  As I filled in some of the lines the image started to pop off the page. 

The finished panel had a lot of depth and dimension in the design.  The interest and depth created by the thick and thin black lines reminded me of an M.C. Escher piece.
